Yes, it is easy to get a taxi at the airport. The drivers are waiting for visitors outside the terminal.
Always discuss and agree on a rate with the driver before getting into the taxi.
Are the Beaches in Cabo Swimmable?
Yes there are many beaches in Cabo that are swimmable.
Here is a list that we recommend:
Lover’s Beach, this is accessible by water taxi, kayak or by climbing over the rocky hills from Solmar Beach
Medano Beach, this is the longest stretch of swimmable beach in Cabo, it’s situated at km 0.5 to km 1.5
Playa Santa Maria, also great for snorkeling, it’s situated at km 12.5
Playa Chileno, also great for snorkeling, it’s situated at km 15
Playa Palmilla, situated at km 27

Is Los Cabos still a safe destination? I’ve heard lots of stories in the news.
Yes Los Cabos is a safe destination. Cabo San Lucas has no travel advisory in effect and is deemed safe to visit. Like anywhere, you need to be smart. Don’t do things or go places you wouldn’t go in your own home town by yourself. Just use common sense and have a great time!

There is a farmers market that is located at Penny Lane Cafe as well as the Cabo Organic Farmers Market. Both are located in the Pedregal area and are open: Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 8am to noon.
There is a seasonal market at the Shoppes of Palmilla across the highway from the resort and villas. They are open every Friday from November to April – 9am to 1 pm.
The San Jose Organic Market in San Jose del Cabo is open every Saturday from Nov to May – 9am to 3pm.
The California Ranch Market near the Marina is open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 9pm.
Lastly, you can check out the Mercado Santa Carmela, which has locations in both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. They are open 7 days a week – Mon to Sat 7am to 8pm and Sunday 9am to 7pm.
Is the water safe to drink?
While most villas have water purification systems including UV filters, we recommend bottled water as it’s safer and most people say it tastes much better.
Drinking water out in the town should be restricted only to bottled water and glasses of water poured at reputable hotels, resorts, and restaurants where your server has reassured you that what they’re serving is “agua purificada”-purified water.
Driving in Los Cabos and Baja California – What is required?
No special permits are needed. However, you will need a valid driver’s license issued by your state of residence. The roads are generally safe, but narrow by U.S. standards; be extra careful.
Distracted driving penalties are taken seriously and can cost upwards of $400 USD.
What is the legal drinking age in Mexico?
The legal drinking age in Mexico is 18 years of age. Drinking Alcohol in Public – while this is tolerated to an extent, it is illegal to drink alcoholic beverages on the street, in vehicles, at the beach, and in other public places. It is an offense to drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol so taking an uber or taxi is highly recommended and a lot safer!
What Currency is used in Los Cabos?
The currency used in Los Cabos, Mexico is the Mexican Peso. Exchange rates at booths and hotels are slightly lower than at banks, but you may have to wait in line a lot longer. Most shops and restaurants accept dollars and credit cards. Restaurants have been known to offer very poor exchange rates when using USD. Having pesos on hand is highly recommended.
By law, merchants are required to give change in Pesos only, no matter what currency you pay with.
Merchants may request “pesos only” as there are restrictions from the Government limiting the amount of USD a business can accept monthly.
What are the best months to visit Cabo?
Cabo has great weather and great activities all year round, but there are two times of the year you may want to avoid is the hot, rainy season during August and September.
Are there any entry and exit requirements?
You will need a passport that’s valid for at least six months after your entry to Mexico. You’ll also need a Mexican Tourist Permit that is usually given on the plane prior to arrival. Be sure to hold on to that card throughout your stay, as you’ll need to present it upon departure. Should you lose your tourist card, you will need to pay a fine and obtain a replacement visa at the immigration booth located at the departure level in the San Jose Airport.
Residents of countries other than Canada and the US may require a visa to enter. However, if you have a US Visa that is generally accepted. Please inquire for further details on your country of residence.
When is the best time to go surfing in Cabo?
The summer months (June – November) are the best times to catch waves. The waves are always great and the beaches are always welcoming. For beginners, we recommend Cerritos beach with long surf breaks. For intermediate and advanced surfers, we recommend Zippers in San Jose and Shipwrecks on the East Cape. How far is the drive from the San Diego / Tijuana border?
To drive from San Diego/Tijuana border to Cabo San Lucas is approximately 1,640km and takes about 19 hours.
How far is it from the Airport to San Jose del Cabo, and Cabo San Lucas?
The main airport (SJD) is located approximately 20 minutes by car from the Hotel and Condo zone in San Jose if you take the new toll highway which costs 27 pesos (about USD $2.70) each way. If you decide to save the toll count on a longer trip through the heavily congested town of San Jose. This route is especially slow during afternoon rush hour.
Cabo San Lucas is about another 25-30 minutes.

Do I need travel insurance?
We highly encourage you to purchase travel insurance. It’s important to sort your travel insurance out to truly enjoy your holiday to the fullest and stress-free.
Travel insurance will cover you should you or anyone in your group become ill and unable to travel, including Covid-19. Don’t let an unplanned sickness or accident ruin your holiday plans – protect your vacation investment!
Where do I find my driver at the airport?
Once you have picked up your luggage please exit the airport and walk all the way to shade Number 3. CAUTION – There will be timeshare representatives right before the exit soliciting you with freebies as you walk past. Unless you are seriously interested or want to spend at least 1-2 hours of your vacation listening to a salesperson, just walk on by.
Can we be loud in the Villas?
Music is allowed to be played at the villas, but we do ask that you are mindful of the neighbors. Also, most if not all of the communities in Cabo have a very strict noise policy that begins every night at 10:00 pm. If the music/noise is too loud security will come by the villa with a warning. Yes, the Mexican property tax is called “predial”. It is paid annually, and if you pay before the end of January you will receive a 20% discount on your taxes.
